Looking for sustainable ways to rapidly meet compliance goals, increase capacity, and significantly reduce sludge production at your wastewater treatment works (WWTW)?

Join Spring and Northern Ireland Water on Tuesday, 24th June 2025 14:00-16:00 to find out how the Biofermentation® process, provided by ABS, helped them regain and exceed compliance in less than 90 days, increased capacity 25%+, and reduced energy usage by 25% at Limavady WWTW.

Northern Ireland Water approached ABS with three key priorities:

  • To determine whether the technology would improve treatment capacity and/or effluent quality
  • To determine whether the technology would reduce the mass of secondary solids produced
  • To determine whether the technology would reduce OPEX: polymer usage, electricity and hauling

The results were overwhelming, showing a reduction in the effluents TSS (Total Suspended Solid), Ammonia and Phosphorus of 46%, 10% and 37% respectively, as well as 27% less electrical usage on site.

We’ll also hear from representatives of the City of Dublin, Georgia, where over 17 years of continuous operation ABS was able to eliminate Alum for clarification of secondary reuse water completely within three weeks and reduce sludge production by an average of 70%. And City of Starke, Florida, USA, on how this novel, nature-based solution lowered sludge production by 90%+ and saw five years of operation without hauling sludge off site with Advanced Digestion – significantly reducing sludge disposal costs and associated transportation emissions.
