Interested in discovering how Severn Trent plans to create the world’s first carbon-neutral waste treatment works in Staffordshire?
Join Spring and Severn Trent on Tuesday, 12th March from 14:00-16:00 to discover how the award-winning Net-Zero Hub will be home to new innovations and technologies aiming to reduce and remove operational emissions from wastewater treatment processes, in collaboration with a host of international water companies and suppliers.
Amid a continuously growing pressure to combat carbon emissions across the UK and Ireland water industry, this ground-breaking project will transform a large, carbon-intensive Wastewater Treatment Plant into the world’s first retrofit carbon-neutral site.
Register for this event to learn how Severn Trent will integrate the most promising technologies on one site – such as SUEZ’s, ‘Actilayer’, a novel cover for activated sludge plants, and Cellulose Recovery technology from Dutch company Cirtec – to eradicate 34,000 tonnes of carbon per year, which is equivalent to a person flying return between London and New York, 34,500 times.
Amongst many other exciting technologies, the site will also house Digital Twin technology, offering a virtual representation of the whole treatment plant, including low-carbon technologies. With the help of Atkins, Explore AI, Siemens and Xylem, this virtual world will allow Severn Trent to optimise technologies, see how they interact and automatically apply those learnings to the treatment plant.
Register today if you or someone in your organisation is interested in hearing more about Severn Trent’s plans for its Net Zero Hub and how it could help create a blueprint for carbon-free wastewater treatment across the globe.
